Welcome back friends for another great week for our Women In Business Series!
This week we are working with a gal that is a mama helping pave the way for stay at home mamas to follow their dreams to stay at home, but still be creative and crafty!
Let me introduce you to Brittany Kollmer, the owner of B.Stamped
Brittany is another fantastic woman business owner that Instagram has drawn me too! She has an Etsy shop where her products are found my many, and adored by all! She creates one of a kind pieces that are not found in other shops. She stamps all these bracelets herself, and that is what makes it so unique she can make anything you would like!
I was really inspired by Brittany and a few others, when I met them through an online auction that they were participating in for a little girl in need. She truly loves to pay it forward, especially to moms with terminally ill children.
Here are a few of her unique pieces that are on her Etsy shop- one that I actually bought myself as well!
So let’s learn a little more about Brittany and what her company is all about!
How long have you been in business?
5 months! I officially opened an Etsy shop on December 3, 2013. I am also the co-owner of “The Knotty Sisters”, a handmade crochet business my sister-in-law and I created that sells through Facebook. (www.facebook.com/theknottysisters)
What is your business all about?
B.Stamped is a personalized hand stamped jewelry business. I aim to provide customer well-crafted pieces with a sentimental touch. I offer wrap bracelets, necklaces and coming soon- bottles openers and key chains. My jewelry is not the typical hand stamped jewelry you see everywhere, the wrap bracelets and metal textures are unique. I work almost exclusively with aluminum which is hypoallergenic and does not tarnish. I love that I am able to make customers meaningful pieces of jewelry whether it be a quote bracelet or a piece of mommy jewelry.
Why did you start your business?
I decided to start B.Stamped in hopes that it would allow me to continue to be a stay at home mom (to my 18th month old son). In infancy my son was diagnosed with life threatening food allergies and daycare/non- family member babysitters are just not an option for him which makes it difficult for me to continue working as a nurse. I have always been ‘crafty’ and B.Stamped is the perfect outlet for me to be creative and continue being a stay at home mom.
What other women business owners inspire you?
Susan Peterson from Freshly Picked. Her success story is so motivating and inspirational to me.
What makes your business unique?
My product! As I mentioned before, my jewelry is not the usual hand stamped jewelry you see everywhere. The wrap bracelets are unique and the fact that I am using aluminum almost exclusively is something you aren’t seeing in other shops.
I also believe in paying it forward, I have been creating special pieces of jewelry and giving them to mother’s who have terminally ill children and those that have lost a child. As a mother, it is especially important to me to do these good deeds to teach my son and B.Stamped has provided me the opportunity to continue paying it forward.
As you can see friends, Brittany is a women that is helping create the way for all moms to show how their dreams, can become a business, all while staying at home and being a mama!
