Welcome back friends for another great week for our Women In Business Series!
This week we are featuring another fantastic and creative mama that is rocking the way our tiny humans wear adorable accessories!
I’m excited for you to meet Jennifer from Shared Joy!
Jennifer is yet another great woman who I have met through the power of Instagram! Jennifer’s shop – Shared Joy is one that I promise you will love! I have fallen in love with her products for several reasons, but the main reason is this:
Giuliana hates to have things in her hair! Literally throws a fit, and kicks and screams for her life, when I attempt to even touch her head! Until one day a few weeks ago, some beautiful headbands appeared in the mail from Jennifer, and our bad hair days are over!
They are so soft. The band is not making a red “indent” in the back of her neck like some of the other headbands we have gotten! Jennifer- you have made this momma’s life a little easier, so thank you from the bottom of my heart! And even better, they are reversible!! So when you order one- it’s like getting two headbands! AWESOOMMMMME!
Jennifer’s store on Etsy called Shared Joy– is a place where you will not just find fun headbands for the your little girls, but you find some fantastic other accessories! Take a look at some of her products:
Ready to learn some more about this mama? Here is what Jennifer had to say about her business and why she got started!
How long have you been in business?
I started my business 2 years.
Tell us a little more about your business?
I remember the day I came up with the name Shared Joy. I was rocking Emma before a nap and came across a book that was given to me…a devotional book about daughters (I think? lol). I turned directly to the page titled “Shared Joy” and instantly knew that’s what I wanted my business to be called. It just seemed so fitting at the time with bringing our first daughter into the world and how happy we were! I wanted to share that joy with others! My headbands are inspired by her and now Lily ( just born in February). I am constantly looking for fun, bright colors and keep in mind all of the little girls that will be wearing our headbands. Always hoping it makes them as happy as it makes me to make them.
What made you decide to start your business?
I started my business after my oldest daughter, Emma, was born. We lived just outside of DC at the time and I knew I still needed to do something to help with an income. Creating and crafting was something I always enjoyed doing, but never really had the time for it. I feel like Shared Joy just kind of fell into my lap right when I needed it. My dream for the longest time was to be a SAHM and I’m so thankful I’ve been able to do that!
What makes your business so unique and keeps others coming back?
There are so many little girls’ headbands out there making it hard to stand out in the crowd. I’m always looking for something different and fun for our customers to wear…constantly researching trends, patterns, colors, etc. I love our floral fabric headbands and think they are truly something so fun!!
And lastly, what other women business owners inspire you?
I’m in awe of other moms who run their own handmade business as well! I haven’t personally connected with anyone yet : )) but I hope to soon! It’s really encouraging to know I’m not the only mom out there juggling kids and a business and that I have resources right in front of me for tips/ideas in time of doubt!
So friends, you see why I love this little mama so much? She is inspired by the kiddos to be a creative mom and give others the simple joys of enjoying her creations.
Did I tell you that she has a really fun idea in her store? It is called the Headband Club! Every month she sends you 2 unique headbands, that are not in her store! The program can be purchased for 3,6, or 12 months! Another great idea for moms who love headbands like me!
I hope you have found today’s Women In Business featured mama pretty fantastic! If you would like to go show her some love and purchase some of her wonderful products, below are ways for you to follow her!
Thank you again so much Jennifer for letting me take a little peek into your journey, and helping showcase the awesome woman and mom you are. You are doing such amazing things, and can’t wait to see where this takes you!
