Welcome to our very first Women In Business Feature! I am so happy to have you dropping by the blog today to get a chance to meet this crafty lady,
Lucy McClure from bel monili.
You all know how much I love LOVE jewelry, well ladies, today I have a special treat in store for you!
I am so excited to feature this fabulous woman that I met almost a year ago at a blogging get together a mutual friend of ours held here in Pittsburgh.
Lucy McClure, the founder and creator of bel monili, has been handcrafting jewelry since 2010 and is one creative lady!
Her inspiration comes mostly from upcycled vintage pieces. These pieces help create these absolutely fabulous and truly beautiful line of jewelry and handcrafted items. Each item is uniquely one of a kind, making it an affordable piece of wearable art.
Speech Pathologist by day, crafty jewelry creator by night. Lucy has made her dream of owning her own business a reality. She can now be seen at some of the hottest shows and fairs in the country, one of those being the Country Living Fair (which of course, I already have my ticket for in Ohio, antiques galore!) Lucy is also a big part of the IMadeIt Market here in Pittsburgh, where she is an Ultimate Artist Sponsor.
The quality and look of her jewelry speak for itself.
Here are a few pieces from her Etsy site that she is selling right now- (all images below are property of bel monili)
When I asked Lucy what her favorite thing about owning her own business was she said:
“I would say that one of the biggest joys is the ability to do what I love with people I love. I have the amazing good fortune to have so many friends who are also business owners, and one of my most favorite things about my business in particular is that I have been able to partner up and travel to shows with my friend Jeanne who owns juNxtaposition. We support each other in business and in life, and to have a network of fellow business owners has given me the chance to constantly work on and refine my focus and style.”
Lucy is not only an inspiration to me, but I am sure to many people who have the crafty bug in them. We love to create, try new things, and see our creations come alive. She does exactly that with her business, and that is why I picked her to be in this series.
