Every summer since Giuliana was born, we have tried to find one place where we could go as a family to make some fun memories for her.
The past two summers it has been in a park where kids can run freely, enjoy tons of kiddie rides, and of course see their favorite tiger, Daniel Tiger that is.
Idlewild Park. That is the place for us to create our memories.
Last year, since she was so small, Story Book Forest was her favorite place to be. She loved all the characters, and the “tiny” houses and places she could visit!
But, this year was a whole different ball game!
This year we could see and enjoy every minute, especially when she got a chance to meet her favorite character in real life!
This year there was a few new things added to our visit there, besides the 18 major rides, 14 kiddie rides, a large water park, shows! Whew, I get so pumped thinking about all the things! This year Idlewild & SoakZone has teamed with The Fred Rogers Company to bring the kiddos favorite tiger, Daniel Tiger, star of PBS KIDS’ Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, to Idlewild! It was such a fun addition to the park from last year and even from when I was a kid. When I was growing up, we went to Idlewild to see the famous Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and took the trolley ride through the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. I was so pleased to see that they kept the same feel, just updated characters, the ones our kiddos now would know, Daniel Tiger and his crew.
You got to build up the anticipation to the trolley ride while waiting in line reading some of Daniel Tigers favorite sayings and songs,
and of course, take fun pictures with daddy.
The start of the trolley ride is so much fun for your little ones!
Each stop we made, new characters were introduced and invited to attend the neighborhood party with Daniel at the end!
After we visited the neighborhood, we decided it was time to ride some rides! The rain finally let up, and to kiddieland we went!
This year, she even rode the airplanes all by herself!
This year we even had the chance to get our faces painted! Of course, we had to be a princess.
After riding some of the rides, we decided it was time to head over to the new DANIEL’S GRR-IFIC DAY show! This is where Daniel Tiger and his friend Katerina Kittykat star in a musical stage show in Raccoon Lagoon! I was hoping that Giuliana would get the chance to meet him! ‘
Luckily, she did, and even got a HIGH FIVE!!
This year the weather was really crappy, so we didn’t get a chance to have our big fun-filled funnel cake like last year, but I guess that just means we have to come back again this summer!
So friends, I hope you find yourself at Idlewild Park this summer to experience all the fun we had! I wish the weather would have been better, or we would have stayed to soak up all the sun and water at SoakZone! Oh well, we will be back!
So, I hope we can see you there, soaking up some memories with your family this year!
