My goal of this whole series is create a community for women to come to for advice, and hear from other women that are doing it. I don’t care if you have started your own business, or you are working your way up the corporate ladder, you are a woman, taking on the business world that can share your failures, successes, and advice for those who need it. That is what matters most to myself, and I believe to you as my readers as well.

With all that being said, our first feature is going to help you see why becoming an agent is not only gratifying, but she has such a passion for it, she wants to help others see their potential!
Let’s Meet This Woman!
The first of our four women featured this month from Howard Hanna is Nicole Mancini. Nicole is the Director of Recruitment at the Howard Hanna Corporate office in Pittsburgh.
I am sure you are all wondering why we are featuring a women that does not actually own the business we are talking about, right? Yes, the majority of our women featured are business owners, but I told you we would have some twists this time around!
The pleasure of doing a feature on Nicole is not only does she have a passion for this job and her company, she is a friend of mine as well!
Nicole is the first to share the platform with just a few of the great women that represent Howard Hanna over the next few weeks. The women will talk about their careers, as well as how they handle the pressure of doing it all with motherhood.
Here is a little bit about Nicole and how her career at Howard Hanna came about.
Nicole, it is so great to have you a part of this series! Tell our readers a little bit more about yourself.
I received my Masters Degree in Training & Development from Carlow University in 2006. I also have a Masters in Mass Communication from Point Park University. Career Development has always been a passion of mine. It allows me to have a direct impact on the lives of so many people. Whether it was a student in one of my classes who grows and evolves into a superstar, or the individual that I interview and hire that finds their place, their niche, in the world. I love being a recruiter. I get tremendous satisfaction from helping others and building relationships. I love pairing the right person with the right job. I love watching them grow and flourish and become successful. This is my chance to make a difference.
That is so fantastic, and I love that you get the chance to help people find the “right career fit” for their life! So, what made you decide to want to work with Howard Hanna?
I joined Howard Hanna for many reasons, but first and foremost it was the company, the people, the leadership and the culture. After spending many years in the corporate world, I found it to be very “cold.” I wanted a change. I wanted to work for a company, for people, who cared. I found that here at Howard Hanna. And it is my pleasure everyday to hire great people to come and work for this company and help them to grow their business.
You talk about pairing people with their “niche”, do you find that gratifying in this field?
Our sales associates come to us from all different backgrounds and industries; we have former pharmaceutical and medical sales representatives, financial advisors, sales professionals, nurses, teachers… the list goes on.
But, one aspect of my job that provides me with great joy is helping mothers find new and exciting careers in real estate. Moms come to me from all different industries and scenarios, but they all have one thing in common:
Every day I am asked questions such as:
“Is there flexibility?”
“Can I take my child to the doctor if I need to?”
“Will I be able to attend my son’s soccer games?”
“Will I be able to watch my daughter in her school play this year?”
“Can I do all of these things and still earn a living and satisfy the professional side of me?”
So, moms really can do this job? I mean, I always knew agents that had kiddos, but always wondered how they had the time!
YES! YES! YES! I am happy to say that the answer is yes. One of the most fabulous things about becoming a real estate sales associate is the work life balance. The ability to control your own schedule, your own income and your own life. Real estate is the perfect job for a working mother. You can manage your children’s schedules, be an active part of their life, contribute to your family…all while satisfying the professional side of you. That’s what makes this job so great. Every day I have the opportunity to educate moms on the career possibilities and tell them yes, it is possible to have a career and be a mom.
That is so awesome! Did you hear that moms? Is there anything else you would like to share with us today?
Honestly, I have to say a career in real estate offers individuals so many things; flexibility, great income potential, the opportunity to network…every day is exciting and new. For our talented sales professionals, the sky is the limit. These are opportunities that very few jobs offer in today’s economy. And at Howard Hanna, they make my job easy. The resources, training and leadership that they provide their sales associates (agents) are second to none. When I interview a new candidate to join our team, I have complete confidence in knowing that they will have all of the resources that they need to grow and become successful in this industry.
